We’re sure you have some questions about the Awards before you make your entry, so we’ve tried to cover everything below…
Can I enter?
Any founder can enter as long as their business operates in the tech space and is based in the UK.
Is there a cost?
No, it’s completely free to enter the BMW i UK Tech Founder Awards. The only associated cost is the ticket to attend the final itself. Shortlisted founders will receive a discount on their ticket price.
Can I save my application?
Unfortunately not. You will not be able to save your application once you have started. Similarly, you will lose your progress if you close the application before submitting.
Therefore, we highly recommend writing, saving and proofing your application on a separate document before pasting it into our application form.
Can I enter more than one category?
Absolutely! You are free to enter as many categories as you see fit. However, we do recommend that you tailor each application to their relevant category.
What is the word limit?
Each question has a limit of 2,000 characters, which is roughly 400 words.
Can I upload supporting documents?
We will contact finalists before the shortlist has been announced in order to gather the business logo, founder headshot and supporting documents.
When is the entry deadline?
Entries for 2019 are not yet open. The entry deadline will be clearly communicated across all platforms when announced.
What is the judging process?
After an initial shortlisting period, your entry will be marked by the judges assigned to your category.
Your entry will be judges based on answers to the questions on the application form, along with any supporting documents provided.
The judges will mark each question and give a rating out of 10 and are encouraged to make comments to justify their scores.
Judges will review applications independently, however, judges within a category may also collaborate with one another, particularly if the scoring is close.
